Dr Luther can see you on Wednesday morning in Spire Liverpool or Saturday
morning in Spire Manchester.
He can see you in the Rowan suite on most days of the week (around his NHS
commitments).
He can see you for a video consultation in Spire or Rowan on most evenings. He
can also schedule day-time consultations (around his NHS commitments).

When you book a private appointment with Dr Luther, we will do all we can to book you an appointment ASAP that is convenient. Dr Luther will talk you through everything in detail, using diagrams to ensure your full understanding. We encourage you to bring a family member for their support. We aim to send a detailed clinic letter to you and your GP within 7 days summarizing the entire consultation and treatment plan.
If possible, please e-mail previous ECG’s or clinic letters before your appointment.
How To Arrange Your Private Appointment
Covered by Health Insurance
Dr Luther is registered with most major health insurers and bills within their fee guidelines.
- You will need to be pre-authorised by your insurance company.
- Let your GP know, as pre-authorisation requires a written “open referral letter.”
- All cardiologists are not the same, and if you have symptoms of a heart rhythm condition, it may be preferable to be referred to a heart rhythm specialist.
- You can request to see Dr Luther directly with the insurance company.
- Obtain an Authorisation Number.
- Check with your insurance company the level of cover they will provide.
- Alternatively, your local hospital cardiologist may have identified that you may have a heart rhythm problem that needs more advanced investigation and treatment. Your doctor can then write a referral letter for you to be seen by a heart rhythm expert like Dr Luther.
Self-Paying Patients
- For patients who know/suspect they have a heart rhythm problem, they can book with Dr Luther directly without a GP written referral
- Fees for the first consultation are £250 and any follow up is £150.
- Dr Luther’s secretary will send an invoice and payment is via bank transfer.
- It is helpful for Dr Luther to have any previous cardiology clinic letters and investigation results in advance of the appointment – these can be emailed to us (sharon.ngai@lhch.nhs.uk)
